Day 27- Why are you doing this 30 day challenge?

I think ultimately the reason is twofold:

On the surface it's because I was bored and had nothing better to do with my time since I only work part time and am not in school any more. I did the 30 day photo challenge, and enjoyed sharing daily pictures so much I thought I'd spend the next month sharing my thoughts and words.

But on a much deeper level is the reality that I love sharing my thoughts with people. I don't necessarily care if many read them or not. They are out there to be read if you so please, and I can pretend that millions hang on my every brilliant thought, as it should be!

It's kind of funny because when I'm with people - friends, foes, or otherwise - I hesitate to share my every thought because I'm relatively certain very few really care to hear my nonstop babbling about anything and nothing and all the things in between. But, on the internet, I can pretend that everyone cares. Or at least they can care at their own leisure.

The kicker is that I'm running out of days and then I'll have to come up with my own topics to share unless someone can find me a suitable next 30 day challenge.

Day 26- Places you want to visit before you die.

This is by no means an exhaustive list of all of the places I want to visit. It was more of a spin the bottle as I moved around the map, I would drop pins on names that called out to me. Ultimately, I want to go everywhere and see everything! I didn't earn the name Ranger Rover for nothing. Travel is in my blood, and as soon as it is in my bank account as well it will be done!

Day 25- What I would find in your bag.

Having not been cleaned out since vacation last week, this ought to be interesting:

-keys
-boarding pass
-cash
-almonds
-two ink pens
-wallet
-and an apple

Day 24- Share a story about your past that you are ashamed of.

Seriously blogger challenge??? Share a story I'm ashamed of??? I think not!

For starters, I rarely feel ashamed for very long. If I do something that is deserving of shame, I usually take the needed steps to make up for it as soon as possible, thus making me not ashamed any more.

Second, I also have a bit of a defense mechanism installed in my brain that blocks most of those times out. I choose not to focus on the negative in life. Time to move on and try better the next time.

Finally, if I did have something I was ashamed of, for what reason would I possibly want to post it on the internet for the entire world to read about? Hmmmmm.

All of that being said, I decidedly choose to bypass day 24.

Day 23- What is something you crave.

Sugar

I have a completely insatiable sweet tooth. I love it in almost any form...pies, cookies, cakes, chocolate, fruit, candy, etc...

However, the rampant diabetes that runs through my family and the "better living" kick I've been trying to get on recently have both put a halt to my indulgence in said cravings. I suppose I'll just have to learn to live without, minus some well controlled special treats once in a while. (Ahem...two boxes of Girl Scout cookies in my office!)

Day 22- What makes you different from everyone else.

Joy

I don't know that this necessarily makes me different from EVERYONE, but it certainly makes me different from a lot of folks. I tend to approach life with a certain amount of joy. I never really realized it until it consistently showed up on job reviews from different employers and supervisors. I like to be happy. I like to make others happy. This certainly doesn't mean I'm happy all of the time, far from it. But, if I have the choice of wining and moaning and being miserable or sucking it up and finding some joy in the situation...I choose joy. It just makes for a better day/life overall!

Day 21- Share a picture from your day.

Vacation is a lot of fun, but...

Hi my name is Sarah, and I am a blogging slacker.

Saturday morning bright and early I am departing for the sunny seas of the Caribbean. I plan on taking myself off the grid completely. No cell phone, no email, no facebook, no blogging. It's going to be glorious!

But this week preparing for departure (both at home and at work) has been very hectic. In the midst of all of it, I somehow managed to catch a cold. I never get sick, but here on the eve of my fantabulous vacation I get a cold! Super!

So, all that being said, blogging has been put temporarily on hold until I return from my cruise. But never you fear, the blogging challenge will resume mid March.
